Dr. Prashant Singh embarked on his academic journey with a strong foundation in Botany, earning his B.Sc. (Hons.)-Botany from Banaras Hindu University, India in 1998. Building upon this, he pursued a Master's degree in Botany, further honing his expertise. His educational pursuits culminated in a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Essex, UK in 2007, solidifying his commitment to the field of plant sciences.
PROFESSIONAL ENDEAVORS:
Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Singh delved into diverse international roles, showcasing his commitment to global research collaboration. His postdoctoral fellowships included positions at esteemed institutions such as the University of California-Riverside (USA), University of Essex (UK), and National Taiwan University (Taiwan). Subsequently, he held the position of a USDA-NIFA Assistant Scientist at the Department of Agronomy, Iowa State University, USA, and later served as a BBSRC Senior Research Associate at Lancaster University, UK.
Dr. Singh's contributions to the field primarily center around the intricate dynamics of Plant Pathogen Interaction, Plant Innate Immunity, and Transgenerational Immune Priming (TGIP).
