EARLY ACADEMIC PURSUITS

Jer-Yen Yang began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Pathology from National Chung-Hsing University, Taiwan, followed by a Master of Science in Biotechnology from National Taiwan Ocean University. During this time, his research focused on the transfer and expression of exogenous genes in zebrafish, under the mentorship of Dr. Jen-Lieh Wu. Yang furthered his education by pursuing a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology and Pharmacology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, under the guidance of Dr. Mien-Chie Hung. His doctoral research delved into targeting forkhead transcription factors in cancer therapy.

PROFESSIONAL ENDEAVORS

Yang's postdoctoral training expanded his expertise in cancer research. He first served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, investigating EGFR signaling in cancer malignancy under the mentorship of Dr. Mien-Chie Hung. Subsequently, he joined Stanford University's School of Medicine as a Postdoctoral Fellow, focusing on the Hedgehog pathway and cancer metabolism in brain tumors under the guidance of Dr. Matthew P. Scott.
