Mr. Mequanint Tenaw Asres embarked on his academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Arid Zone Agriculture (Soil & Water Conservation) from Alemaya University of Agriculture, Ethiopia, in 1991. This foundational education laid the groundwork for his future endeavors in environmental and water resource management.
PROFESSIONAL ENDEAVORS:
Armed with his undergraduate degree, Mr. Asres delved into the professional arena, gaining practical experience in various large-scale infrastructure development projects in Ethiopia. His early career involved contributing to projects funded by the Government of Ethiopia, the World Bank, African Development Bank, and other international organizations, where he honed his skills in environmental impact assessment, compliance audits, and integrated watershed management.
Over the span of more than 20 years, Mr. Asres has made significant contributions to the field of environmental science. His expertise lies in environmental and social impact assessment, compliance auditing, scoping, and the preparation of Environmental and Social Management Frameworks (ESMF). Notably, his involvement in projects encompassing food systems resilience, renewable energy, water resource studies, and agriculture has showcased his commitment to sustainable development.
